From Vientiane to Vangvieng. Please use the van the price is only 150,000 Kip. It takes time faster and cheaper than the train because the van takes expressway and drop off you at center of Vang Vieng city. So you can walk to hotel. If the van picks up at your hotel the total price would be only 170,000 Kip / person.
